Clear Aligners

Offering an aesthetic and practically invisible way to straighten your teeth, using a series of clear removable plastic trays that fit over the teeth.

Clear Alternative to Braces

For older patients seeking a discreet appliance with minimal impact on their day-to-day life, clear aligner treatment is a popular alternative to braces. There are many brands on the market, some being more well-known than others, but all work in a very similar fashion.

The clear plastic aligners are manufactured based on a customised digital plan created by your orthodontist. This means that the aligners are unique to you and are made to fit comfortably and precisely over your teeth. Tooth alignment progresses by sequentially changing to a new set of aligners every 1-2 weeks.

Being a removable appliance means that oral hygiene can be carried out just as easily as it was before orthodontic treatment and the required changes to dietary habits throughout treatment are minimal. However, being removable does means the patient must be extremely compliant with their wear because if they’re not being worn, the teeth are not moving. Clear aligners may not be suitable in every case and your orthodontist will help decide whether this is the right appliance for you.
