TREATMENT

Retention

Following any form of orthodontic treatment, regardless of the appliance used, patients will be issued with retainers.

Retainers After Braces

Retainers come in many forms and designs, including removable plates, clear plastic trays or wires fixed to the inner surface of the front teeth.

Although a nuisance, regular wear of retainers aims to maintain tooth alignment long-term. Our faces continue to grow and change over time, albeit at a much slower rate than when we were young.

As a result, stability of teeth is never guaranteed and in order to protect the time and effort invested in straightening your teeth, the ongoing use of retainers is recommended.
