Orthodontic Qualifications & Experience
During her post-graduate studies, Bethany was taught the latest in orthodontic treatment and research and spent time working at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Patients in these facilities must meet a certain level of severity to qualify for treatment, which often results in cases being very complex and challenging. Such cases typically require interdisciplinary management resulting in close working relationships with oral and maxillofacial surgeons and other dental specialists.
Bethany undertook a prospective clinical trial comparing the survival of two different retainer materials as part of her post-graduate thesis. She presented on the topic at the meeting of the Australasian Begg Society of Orthodontists in Darwin in July 2019 and was awarded the Elsdon Storey Research Merit Award for her work in 2021.
She has lectured at the University of Melbourne to undergraduate dental students and post-graduate paediatric specialists. Bethany completed her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Orth) degree with first class honours and achieved certification with the Australasian Orthodontic Board.
